Welcome
My name is Bruce McBarnette (for information on me visit www.mcbarnette.com) and I support QSCAN, the Queens Sickle Cell Advocacy Network. QSCAN is a 501 (c) 3, community based not-for-profit organization which serves children and families with suffering from Sickle Cell Disease. My mother, Dr. Yvette Fay Francis was one of the early pioneers of Sickle Cell Disease research and was a former member of QSCAN’s board of directors. Even though Sickle Cell Disease is one of the most prevalent genetic diseases in the country, since its impact is mostly on the African American community, it rarely gets the attention that many other disease do which are less prevalent but which impact main stream America.
